What is Cross Country?
Cross country running is a sport in which teams and individuals run a race on open air courses over natural terrain such as dirt or grass. Some times the runners are referred to as harries (dogs).The course is typically 4-12 kilometers (2.5-7.5) long. It may include multi surfaces of grass, earth, woodlands, open country, flat and high ground , and gravel based terrain.
